Library Law Questioned in Mo. Senate Budget Committee Hearing

(MISSOURINET) – A Democratic member of the Missouri Senate questioned Republican Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft over whether his office is helping libraries as they try to obey a new state law. That law makes it a crime for libraries to provide “graphic pornographic material” to minors. During a Senate budget hearing Tuesday, Senator Barbara Washington of Kansas City asked Ashcroft:
