Local Turkey Numbers Reflect State With Noticeably Higher Totals

Local numbers for this weekend’s Youth Spring Turkey Season were generally higher than last year. Josh Roller is with the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Statewide, Missouri’s youth turkey harvest totaled 3,721 birds. Last year’s total was 2,550.

Statewide, the top harvest county was Gasconade County with 92 birds harvested.

Missouri’s regular spring turkey season begins next Monday and will include all-day hunting.
