MDC Offers Free Virtual Maple Sugaring Program February 15

Trees are still in winter’s grip in February, but it takes just a few warm days during the month to make tree sap flow in anticipation of spring.

That sap can be collected and turned into sweet syrup, especially maple syrup.

The Missouri Department of Conservation will offer a free virtual maple sugaring program from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15.

This program will cover tree selection, equipment, and techniques for turning sap into syrup.

The program is open to participants ages eight and older.

Registration is required.
