Mercer School Board members reorganized following the April election and hired a new pre-K through 12th grade principal during a meeting held Monday night.

Wade Hall was selected as principal for the Mercer School District. He is currently the principal for the Tri-County School District.

Mercer’s board gave the oaths of office to Teri Noe and Kailer Stevenson. The board elected Ervin Taff as Mercer School Board President. Heath West will be Vice-President. Julie Graham will be the Secretary/Treasurer.

After a discussion, the board agreed to allow the school to continue planning for a 0-4 year old preschool. A committee has been formed. At this point, a business plan is being created. Grant options are also being sought.

Mercer’s board approved Conrad and Higgins for the school’s audit. The contract will cover 3 years.

A supplemental pay schedule was approved for the upcoming school year.

The board hired Cassie Moore as a 7th through 12th grade Communication Arts teacher.

The board accepted resignations from Megan Martin and Kim Tate.

The board agreed to a cooperative baseball agreement with East Harrison. East Harrison will serve as the host school.

Non-certified staff members were offered contracts. They will receive a 5.78% salary increase.
