Midwestern Congressional Members in Both Parties Want Corps to Focus on Flood Control

A bipartisan group of Congressional representatives across the Midwest is asking the U-S Army Corps of Engineers to make flood control the top priority in managing the Missouri River. The group is composed of Republicans and Democrats from the four states impacted by the flood of 2019: Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. Tarkio GOP Congressman Sam Graves says the the Corps’ failure to make flood control its top priority in managing the river is a real problem:

Congressman Graves tells our St. Joseph Missourinet affiliate that the delegation has asked the Corps to simply follow federal laws, as outlined in a water bill approved by Congress.
