Missouri American Water Informs Customers of Water Treatment Change

Via e-mail and phone calls, Missouri American Water notified St. Joseph-area customers that starting Monday, April 8th, it will temporarily switch its current water treatment plan to free chlorine.
The switch will continue until June as part of the company’s annual fire hydrant maintenance program.
Missouri American Water told customers not to worry if their water has a slight chlorine smell or taste.
The company also mentioned that customers may notice a slight temporary discoloration or water pressure change.
