Missouri District’s Fallout Against Proposed Four-Day School Week

Defeat of a proposed four-day school week has left a Missouri school board considering its next move to attract teachers and keep the ones it has.

St. Joseph School Board Vice President Kenneth Reeder voted against the proposal for the northwest Missouri district.

Still, Reeder says he sees value in the debate for the district with more than 10,400 students.

Board President LaTonya Williams says now the district’s teachers feel undervalued and resignations are already coming in for the district that serves more than 10,400 students.
