Missouri Highway Patrol Focuses on Human Trafficking Awareness this Week

(Missourinet) For three days this week, the state highway patrol is focusing its attention — and public messaging — on the issue of human trafficking.

Missouri Highway Patrol spokesman Capt. John Hotz (hots) explains:

Captain Hotz says they are working with others who are on the road:

Some of those circumstances include:

Travel with an older male/female who isn’t a guardian;  Signs of psychological coercion, such as depression, anxiety, and/or an overly submissive attitude; Lack of control over his/her schedule, money, and/or items proving identification)

Suspected human trafficking can be reported by calling 1-888-373-7888.
