Missouri is a Step Closer to Taking Measures Meant to Boosting Flood Prevention Measures

(MISSOURINET) –  Missouri could boost its flood prevention measures.

The Missouri Senate has given initial approval to a bill that is designed to increase flood resiliency along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers and their tributaries.

The plan, sponsored by State Senator Dan Hegeman, of northwest Missouri’s Cosby, is also meant to improve flood forecasting and monitoring ability…

The proposal would also create long-term funding subject to legislative approval. One more vote of support would send the measure to the House.
