Missouri state officials say it will cost more than 80-million dollars to overhaul the state’s outdated IT system, which includes old computer systems and fax machines. Office of Administration (OA) chief information officer Jeff Wann (pronounced like Swan) testifies that an overhaul will also need millions of dollars in annual costs:
Wann leads a team of more than 900 IT professionals who support the systems used by 14 Missouri state departments and three statewide elected officials. Lawmakers learned Tuesday that Missouri will be receiving two-point-eight BILLION dollars in federal stimulus money, and the IT overhaul project is eligible for funding.
