MO House Passes Bill to Help Curb Expired Temporary Car License Abuse

(MISSOURINET) – The Missouri House of Representatives has passed a bill that would allow car dealers to collect sales tax on cars before buyers drive off the lot. State Representative Michael O’Donnell, a Republican from St. Louis County, says 47 of 50 U.S. states already collect sales tax this way…
O’Donnell says the cost of temporary car license tag abuse in Missouri is about 40 to 60-million-dollars in uncollected state tax revenues. He says his bill could eliminate most of that abuse.
