Multiple Road Projects Hitting St. Joseph Next Week

Multiple road closures will hit the Saint Joseph area next week.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says two Saint Joseph area overpasses are scheduled for one-day closures next week for repairs to the bridge deck, or driving surface.

Crews will first work on Cook Road over Interstate 29.

It will close at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 7, and is scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8.

Crews will then move to Gene Field Road over Interstate 29.

That will close at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, and is scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9.

MoDOT says railroad crews also plan to close southbound Route 759 (Stockyards Expressway) in Saint Joseph, at the Burlington Northern railroad crossings, next week.

The road will close just south of Cedar Street beginning at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, through 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10.

This will be an around-the-clock closure.

During these closures, motorists will need to seek an alternate route.

All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change.
