New St. Joseph School Board Members Sworn In

The three newest St. Joseph School District Board of Education members officially took their posts this week.

Mike Moore, Ronda Chesney, and LaTonya Williams were sworn in Monday night.

Williams was named board president after a 4-3 vote. Moore will be Vice President.

Each new member reportedly identified an issue they’d like to address while serving on the board.

Williams’ top priority is an August levy to increase teacher salaries.

Moore wants the district to become “more attractive” as an employer: to fill vacant job postings.

Chesney’s focus is to build positive relationships with her fellow board members and work collaboratively with them. After that, she’d like to hone in on ensuring the district meets its upcoming accreditation.
