Overturned Semi Closes SB I-35 on Thursday

BETHANY, MO – An overturned semi-tractor and trailer closed the southbound lane of Interstate 35 in Harrison County Thursday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred as the semi, operated by 32-year-old Michael Williams of St. Louis, was southbound at the 91.8 mile marker when the vehicle traveled off the west side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected and attempted to get back on the roadway however it overturned and returned to the roadway, coming to rest on the passenger side, blocking both southbound lanes.

Williams and a 5-year-old female passenger were taken to Harrison County Community Hospital with moderate injuries. The interstate reopened around 2 pm on Thursday afternoon.
