A Plattsburg man suffered injuries in a Clay County crash early this morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 5:53 this morning on U.S. 69 and Italian Way as a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Lawson resident Gaven W. Dilley headed southbound.

Troopers say Dilley slowed to make a left turn and was hit in the rear by another southbound vehicle driven by 51-year-old Plattsburg resident Timothy L. Arnold.

Authorities say Arnold fell asleep at the wheel.

Arnold suffered minor injuries and sought treatment at Liberty Hospital.

Troopers say both men wore seat belts at the time of the crash.
