Plattsburg Resident Facing Weapons Charges

PLATTSBURG, MO – Clinton County authorities have charged a Plattsburg man with a weapon charge over an incident in mid-January in Plattsburg.

In a probable cause statement issued by the Plattsburg Police Department, 49-year-old Jeffrey Lee Knight is alleged to have contacted law enforcement on January 16th stating that he had been assaulted by his son. Upon arriving at the residence, officers say they observed Knight to be highly intoxicated. Officers conducted an investigation which they report revealed Knight had requested his son to come to the residence, at which time he met him at the door with a loaded shotgun. At one time Knight is said to have pointed the shotgun at his son’s head. The son was able to obtain the weapon and remove the shells.

Knight is charged with unlawful use of a weapon. A warrant was issued for his arrest, bond is set at $5,000.
