Princeton Rotary Youth Turkey Calling Contest and Outdoor Expo Set for Saturday

PRINCETON, MO – The Princeton Rotary Youth Turkey Calling Contest and Outdoor Expo will celebrate its 15th Anniversary this Saturday in what has grown to be a much-anticipated annual event.

Matt Krohn with the Princeton Rotary Club says the event was started as an club fundraiser to support club sponsorship throughout the year.  Because of the hunting niche in this area of the country, the idea for the youth turkey calling contest and outdoor expo was born.

Several vendors will be on-site for participants:

Spickard native Scott Roy will be presenting a program about “Interesting Animal Encounters” at 9 a.m.

Limited space is available for the youth turkey calling contest.  Age division are 8 and under; 9 to 12 years; and 13 to 15 years old.   Krohn describes the calling contest:

The Princeton Rotary Youth Turkey Calling Contest and Outdoor Expo will be on Saturday in the Princeton Elementary School commons from 8:30 a.m. to noon.  Concessions and breakfast will be available.  A $5 entry fee will be charged.

Participants can also view the Princeton School team take part in an archery competition.  The owl calling contest will be held at 11 a.m. and the silent auction will run throughout the morning.
