Princeton School Board Votes On Extra Duty Contracts

Princeton School board members approved the Wage and Salary scales for certified and non-certified staff during a meeting held Monday night. Potential increases for the salaries will be determined in the June board meeting. That date is intended to give the administration and board the time to determine how much state funding will be contributed for starting teacher pay grants and the Career Ladder Program.

The board will start taking proposals for the school’s bank depository services and a new school bus.

Princeton’s board also determined extra duty and teacher contracts for the upcoming year. Teaching contracts were approved for Payton Goodin for High School Science, Rob Claycomb for History, and Rebecca Bickel for FFA and Ag. A probationary contract was approved for Ashlie Powell. A Critical Shortage contract was approved for Beth Boxley. Teacher tenure contracts were approved for Nathan Powell and Toni Powell. Extra Duty contracts were offered to Josh Lisle for Baseball, Damon Collins for Boys Varsity Basketball, Mike Schmidli for Girls Varsity Softball and Basketball, Bill Goodin for Cross Country, and Nathan Powell for High School Boys and Girls Track. Motions to approve Nathan Powell for Football Coach, Summer Weights, and Football Camp failed on a 4-2 vote with one abstention. A motion to approve Mike Tipton as Assistant Football Coach and Football Camp also failed 5-2.

The board also accepted resignations from Mike Tipton as Science Teacher and Maja McClarnon as Title I Teacher.
