Ray County Crash Leaves Excelsior Springs Woman With Moderate Injuries

An Excelsior Springs woman was left with moderate injuries following a head-on crash in Ray County Wednesday morning.

Troop A of the Highway Patrol says a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan being driven by 25-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Draven S. Graes was traveling on west 146th Street at 8:45 A.M. when the van crossed the center line while rounding a curve.

Graes tried to swerve to avoid a collision with a 2009 GMC Acadia being driven by 54-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Charlotte Y. Bosson. However, at the same time Bosson also tried to swerve to avoid the collision, going the same direction as Graes swerved causing a head-on collision.

While neither driver was reportedly wearing a seat belt, Graes escaped injury while Bosson suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital by Ray County EMS.
