Ray County Woman Killed in Kansas Accident
A two-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Sedgwick County, Kansas claimed the life of a Ray County, Missouri woman.
According to a release from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office at about 8:11 A.M. Saturday a Dodge truck and Suzuki passenger car collided at the intersection of 85th Street North and Ridge Road. The driver of the Suzuki was eastbound on 85th Street North and entered the intersection without stopping at the posted stop sign. The southbound Dodge truck struck the Suzuki on the driver’s side.
The 48-year-old female driver of the Suzuki died at the scene. That individual has been identified as Catherine Granell of Rayville, Missouri.
The 61-year-old male driver of the Dodge truck from Sedgwick, Kansas was not injured.
Law Enforcement says stop signs are posted at the intersection for east and westbound traffic on 85th Street North. They add the circumstances of the collision are still under investigation.
