Rosecrans Memorial Airport Breaks Ground For New Runway

(ST. JOSEPH, MO) – The Rosecrans Memorial Airport broke ground on a new runway this week.

This project is going to cost $28 million, the city is paying under $500,000 to begin, and the National Guard Bureau is adding $18 million to help pay for it.

The expected completion date for the runway is roughly around November.

Airport General Manager Julius Rice expressed, that a lot is going on at the airport.

Along with the runway, this summer is when new terminal construction will begin and then the air traffic control tower project will begin after that.

Rice also believes that this adds an emphasis on Rosecrans as an asset for St Joseph.
