Schmitt and Hawley Both Plan to Vote ‘Yes’ on TikTok Ban

Both of Missouri’s Republican senators plan to vote “yes” on the U.S. House bill that could ban TikTok from the United States.
The bill would force TikTok’s parent company, China-based ByteDance, to sell the social media platform within 5 months or else it would be banned from app stores in the U.S.
Junior Senator Eric Schmitt says he’ll review the bill before casting his vote, but maintains that divesting China from TikTok is the right thing to do:
Senior Missouri Senator Josh Hawley says China should not own social media used by millions of Americans.
President Biden has said he’ll sign the bill into law if it makes it to his desk.
