SCOTUS Cancels President Biden’s Student Loan Forgiveness Plans

(MISSOURINET) – The U.S. Supreme Court has canceled President Biden’s 400-billion dollar student loan forgiveness plans. The high court has ruled this past Friday that the president’s plan, which would have allowed eligible borrowers to cancel up to 20-thousand dollars in debt, is unconstitutional. Missouri U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt, a Republican, filed the lawsuit to challenge Biden on this effort.

Missouri Congresswoman Cori Bush, a St. Louis Democrat, says the president must keep the promise he made to cancel student debt by pursuing one of several alternative paths at his disposal.
