Seal Work Scheduled to Hit Route 116

Two sections of Route 116 in Clinton County will soon be sealed.

Vance Brothers, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will scrub seal Route 116 from U.S. Route 169 to the east city limits of Plattsburg and from Shoal Creek to Interstate 35 beginning on Friday, June 12.

During the scrub seal operation, the roadway will be reduced to one lane with flaggers and a pilot car directing motorist through the work zone.

Drivers will experience delays, both directions, on Route 116 as they must wait for a pilot car.

Drivers entering Route 116 from a side road must also wait for a pilot car.

They anticipate approximately four working days on Route 116 before moving on to Route 33 from U.S. Route 36 to Route 116.

These are part of a larger project to seal roads across 13 counties in Northwest Missouri.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
