Suspect Charged in Holt County for Dragging Officer With Vehicle

HOLT COUNTY, MO – A pursuit by law enforcement on Thursday in Andrew County lead to an arrest of the suspect.

The Holt County Sheriff says the pursuit was initiated by the Savannah Police Department around 6:50 pm. The pursuit was terminated in Kansas, however information lead officers to believe the suspect lived in Forest City. A Holt County Deputy located the suspect vehicle at Highway 159 and Hagar Drive and initiated a traffic stop.

The vehicle stopped and during the course of the traffic stop, the suspects fought the Deputy, resulting in a taser being deployed. The suspects then fled the scene with the Deputy still partially inside the vehicle. The Deputy sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol took over the pursuit and after an extensive search, two individuals were taken into custody.

Forest City resident Marsha Trentini has been charged with the class A felony of assault in the first degree for dragging the officer with her vehicle. If convicted she faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison with a maximum of 30 years.
