Topeka Driver Injured In Caldwell County Accident

A Topeka, Kansas driver was hurt and charged following a rollover accident off Highway 36 just east of Cameron Monday morning.

The Highway Patrol reports 24-year-old Debora Blevins of Topeka was driving westbound on Highway 36, 1 mile east of Cameron, and went off the south side of the roadway and into the median. The vehicle struck the crossover and went airborne. The vehicle then hit the ground and overturned one time.

The driver received moderate injuries, was initially taken to Cameron Hospital, and then flown to Truman Medical Center.

The accident took place just before 10:30 am Monday.

Following the crash, troopers arrested Blevins on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated via drugs with a person under 17 in the car, driving while suspended, careless and imprudent driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and child endangerment.
