Trenton School Evacuated Wednesday Afternoon

TRENTON, MO – Trenton Middle and High School students were evacuated from the building Wednesday afternoon when a call was received at the Grundy County Law Enforcement Center.

A release from the Trenton Police Department says the call was received just after 1:30 pm. The caller advised that a suspicious item was at the Trenton High School.

Local law enforcement officers responded to the High School. School officials followed protocol and evacuated students to the Rock Barn where they were released to parents.

The Trenton Police Department was assisted by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kansas City International Airport Police and the Kansas City Police Department.

The school advised students they were able to return to the building to pick up their personal items and cars around 6 pm.

Law enforcement say the investigation is ongoing.
