Two Children Among Three Hurt in Holt County Crash

Three people, including two children four years of age and younger, were hurt when a vehicle went off road Tuesday and ended up in a creek.

According to Troop H of the Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Oregon resident Samantha J. Kelly was driving a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica northbound on Holt County Route B about three miles north of Oregon at 12:30 Tuesday afternoon when she lost control of her vehicle on the slush covered roadway.

The vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment, before striking several small trees and traveling into a creek where it finally came to rest on its wheels facing north.

Kelly and her 1-year-old and 4-year-old passengers were all wearing seat belts according to the Highway Patrol, but still suffered minor injuries. All three were taken by Atchison-Holt Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment of their injuries.
