Central Decatur Boys And Girls Cross Country Teams State Bound

Central Decatur’s Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams will be heading to the Iowa State Cross Country Meet next Saturday in Fort Dodge.

The Central Decatur Boys won their 1A State Qualifying Meet. They finished 1st of 9 teams competing with 37 points. St Albert was 2nd with 47 points William Gillis and Vincent Carcamo went 2-3 individually for the Cardinals. Gillis ran 17:17. Carcamo ran the 5K in 17:33. Gunner Smith finished 7th individually and 6th in the team scoring with a time of 17:44. Tyson McDole of Lamoni earned the final individual qualifying spot with a 10th place finish. Central Decatur’s Tate Swartz was 13th. Joe Sheetz was 15th.

Full Class 1 State Cross Country Qualifying Meet Results at Corning

The Central Decatur Girls finished 2nd in the Qualifying meet at Corning. St Albert won the meet with 29 points. Central Decatur finished 2nd with 46 points. Central Decatur’s Harrisen Bevan finished 4th individual with a time of 21:40. Hadley Bell was 9th with a time of 22:28. Aniston Jones was 10th at 22:34.

Full Class 1 Girls State Cross Country Qualifying Meet Results at Corning

Karly Elwood was 11th for Mount Ayr with a time of 23:03. The top 10 individual times qualified.

The 2021 Iowa State Championship Meet will be held at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge on October 30th for Classes 1A and 2A. The 1A Girls will run at 2:30pm. The 1A Boys will compete at 3:15.
