Lawson Standout Wins Another Medal At World Championships

Former Lawson standout Janee’ Kassanavoid took home a silver medal from Budapest at the 2023 World Track and Field Championships. Kassanavoid’s third round throw went 76.36 meters. That distance held up through the remaining rounds.

Kassanavoid placed third last year in the world championships held in Eugene, Oregon. That competition was won by American DeAnna Price, who is also a fellow Missourian. Price finished third at this year’s championships. She finished with a throw of 75.41 meters.

Canada’s Camryn Rogers won the Women’s Hammer with an effort of 77.22 meters.
