South Harrison, Gallatin To Make First Appearances At MSHSAA Fall Softball Championships

The South Harrison and Gallatin softball teams will compete at the MSHSAA Softball Championships Final Site for the first time in their school’s histories.

South Harrison defeated Bowling Green 4-3 in the Class 2 Quarterfinal while Gallatin defeated Platte Valley 9-3 in Gallatin.

South Harrison answered Bowling Green’s 2nd inning run with two in the bottom of the inning. They stretched the lead to 4-1 later in the 4th when they used speed and alert baserunning to score two more.

 

South Harrison Head Coach Aaron Fitzpatrick. Bowling Green scored a run in the to of the 7th and had the bases loaded with two out, but flied out to end the game.

South Harrison will face Carrollton in the MSHSAA Softball Semi-finals on Friday afternoon at 1:30pm.

Gallatin took full control of their quarterfinal against Platte Valley in the 2nd inning and cruised to a 9-3 win in the Class 1 Quarterfinal game. Gallatin scored a run in the 1st, 5 more in the 2nd and led by as many as 7 in their game. Gallatin will face La Plata in their semi-final at noon Friday in Springfield.

Savannah lost their Class 3 Quarterfinal against Oak Grove in 10 innings. Oak Grove won 3-2.
