Bruce Wayne Meek
Jamesport, MO: Bruce Wayne Meek, 76, Jamesport, MO passed away Monday, October 16,
2023 at his home.
He was born on August 22, 1947, in Trenton, Missouri the son of Randall and Willa Lee (Buck)
Meek.
On January 24, 1965, he married Pamela Roberts (now Johnson) and to this union they had
three sons, Steven, Matthew, and Travis. On July 6, 1994, Bruce married Sandra Sims Frazier
and this is the day they became the “Brady Bunch,” adding Sandra’s children, Rich, Jeremy, and
Heather.
Bruce attended Brimson Elementary school and graduated from Trenton High School in
1965. He worked for 14 years for the Missouri Department of Conservation, starting in the
fisheries and ending up as a Conservation Agent. He left this work to run his own fish hatchery.
During this time, he also built homes and did all kinds of carpentry work and farmed.
In 1989, Bruce began working for the Missouri Department of Corrections, first as a
corrections officer and ended up as a woodworking teacher. He retired in 2009. During his
retirement, Bruce enjoyed remodeling his home, spending time with his grandchildren as well
as finding the best deals at Beechy’s or garage sales.
Bruce was led to the Lord by his Grandma Eula. He was a faithful attendee of Melbourne
Baptist Church for 30 years. He loved his family, his wife, he LOVED to joke and make people
laugh, arrowhead hunting, fishing and canoeing.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Sandra Meek, of the home; children, Steven (Tammy) Meek,
Brimson, MO, Matthew (Connie) Meek, Weatherford, TX, Travis (Jennifer McCloud) Meek,
Trenton, MO, Rich Frazier, Jamesport, MO, Linda Frazier, daughter-in-law, St. Joseph, MO,
Jeremy Frazier, Jamesport, MO and Heather (Josh) turner, Jamesport, MO; grandchildren,
Connor (Addison) Frazier, Gilman City, MO, Kyle (Jennifer) Meek, Trenton, MO, Kory (Sydney
Fitzpatrick) Meek, Cameron, MO, Jaxson (Madison Goble) Frazier, Cameron, MO, Carson Meek,
Lawrence, KS, Mollie Meek, Denton, TX, Lucy Turner, Jamesport, MO, Lily Turner, Jamesport,
MO, and Willa Ann Meek, Tampa, FL; great grandchildren, Keelynn, Kamden, Jase, and Winnie
Mae; brother, Brad Meek, Trenton, MO and step-sisters, Tammy Leeper, Wanda Urton, and
Brenda Lober.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21 at Roberson Funeral Home,
Jamesport, MO. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Springer Cemetery, Gilman City, MO.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
