Charles “Chuck” Andrew Swope – age 74 of Polo, Missouri, passed away Sunday morning, February 11, 2024, at his home in Polo.  Chuck was born on July 28th, 1949, to Clovis Leon and Selena Margaret (Phillips) Swope in Chillicothe, Missouri.  He was a graduate of Rayville High School in 1966.  Chucked worked for the Ford Motor Company and made custom cabinets.  He was known as “the lawnmower man”; he could fix and repair any lawnmower.  Chuck enjoyed building hot rod garden tractors and competed in pulling competitions. He was a member of the Fraternity of Eagles in Excelsior Springs, MO.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clovis “Leon” Swope; sister, Selena “Kay” Jones and nephew, Robert William Swope.  He is survived by his partner, Joyce Paddock of Polo, MO; brother, Robert Swope of Excelsior Springs, MO; sister, Glenda Buck of Washington DC; son, Charles Andrew Swope-Bell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Glenda Swope-Bell-Smith of Texas; Kenneth Wayne Swope- Bell of Joplin, MO; son, Bryan Cain Swope-Paddock of Blue Springs, MO; son, Christopher Dean Swope-Paddock of Lexington, MO; daughter, Linda Rae Swope-Paddock-Hinchey of Grain Valley, MO; daughter, Rachel Swartz of Oregon and son, Jeff Stevens of Dolomite of Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Joyce Paddock to help with final expenses in care of the funeral home.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 19, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home in Polo.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
