Christopher “Chris” Anthony Mowre – age 44 of Gallatin, MO passed away Sunday evening, February 4, 2024, at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron, Missouri. Chris was born on January 14, 1980, the son of Roy Christopher Mowre and Winona (Davis) Votipka in Kansas City, MO. Chris grew up in Kansas City. He married Kayla Smith on July 18th, 2009, at the Baptist Church in Edgerton. They made their home in the Kansas City area before moving to Daviess County in 2014. He worked in commercial construction and was a journeyman with the Brick Layers Union Local #207 doing firestop and skilled trades work. Chris’ family was his whole world. He was an exceptional father and husband and treasured his children more than anything; he was very involved in his children’s sports activities and loved to coach. He was proud of everything they did. He enjoyed playing video games and barbecuing; he was a great cook. Chris genuinely enjoyed spending time outside fishing, working on his truck, and playing cornhole. He loved football and particularly liked to razz people about his love for the Raiders. Affectionately he was known as “Uncle C” to his nephews that he loved very much. He would do anything for anybody. Chris will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, step-father, grandparents and grandmother-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Kayla; children; Danika, Preslie, Roman, and Marissa; his mother, Winona Votipka; father-in-law, Joe Smith; mother-in-law, Tiffhanie Gentry; brother, Mattew Votipka, sister, Alisha Votipka, grandfather-in-law, Bob Smith, sister-in-law, Mandy and 5 nephews that he adored along with other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kayla Mowre in care of the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, February 10th, 2024, at the Gallatin United Methodist Church. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:30 PM, Saturday, at the church.
