David Alan Shields, 64, (Lineville, IA) passed away July 25, 2020 at Decatur County Hospital, Leon, IA.

David was born December 19, 1955 in Kirksville, MO, the son of Lawrence and Marjorie (Ellis) Shields.

On April 12, 1990 he was united in marriage to Kathy Lovekamp in Leon, IA.

David retired last year after 30 years of service as a Postal Carrier. He was a graduate of Lineville High School in 1974. He had his own mechanic shop, and loved camping and boating.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pamela Jones; brother, Dennis Shields; and nephew Grant Allen Shields.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Kathy of the home; 3 daughters, Kalli (Kalen) Miler, Laurel (Ryan) Owens, and Shelby (Jacob) Hickman; grandchildren, Kinzley Miller and Easton and Ellis Owens; brothers, Jim (Judy) Shields, Randy (Anna Mae) Shields, Jack (Diane) Shields, and Richard (Brenda) Shields; sisters, Rebecca Shields and Lisa (Mark) Davis.

David has been cremated under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home, Lineville, IA. A private family Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 1, at Roberson Funeral Home, Lineville, IA. A Public Graveside Service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at Evergreen Cemetery, Lineville, IA.
