Deborah Joyce Boyer, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at her home. She was born June 19, 1941, in St. Joseph, daughter of Pearl (Slater) and Benjamin Willis. She attended Central High School. On Feb. 18, 1966, she married Fred Boyer, sharing 50 years together prior to his passing in 2017.

Deborah worked various jobs prior to working for 10 years with Dr. Bob Ruwwe Jr., DDS as a Administrative Assistant. She enjoyed working puzzles, coloring, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved conversation and never knew a stranger. She also loved the Lord and was a woman of faith.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Boyer; and an infant brother.

Survivors include son, Benjamin (Jackie) Boyer, of Savannah, Missouri; grandchildren, Sarah Pederson (Josh Fay), Shaundrea (Ana) Thornton, Slater Boyer, Shelby (Dakota) McCulley, Maddisyn (Jake) Kretzer, Charlee Fay, Jaymes Fay, Hadleigh McCulley, Aurora McCulley, and Monroe Kretzer. A special appreciation for her granddaughter, Sarah and Deborah’s dear friend Susie Willis who were always there for her.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Officiating Pastor Greg Smith. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mosaic Cancer Center or Mosaic Hospice.
