Dorthy Roberta (Jones) Turner, 87, of Bethany, Missouri (formerly of Evansville, Indiana) passed from this life on October 25, 2021.

Dorthy was born on July 26, 1934 in Evansville, Indiana to Aubra Elkins and Jessie Gertrude (Clements) Jones. She lived in Evansville until she married Richard K. Turner on May 22, 1971 and moved to Bethany, Missouri.

Dorthy is a graduate of F.J. Reitz High School in Evansville. She was an executive secretary for Marble Imperial Desk Company in Evansville and later for P.M. Place Stores in Bethany.

Dorthy loved the Lord and lived out her faith. For Dorthy, to live was Christ, and to die was gain. She and her sister, Mary Anna, helped plant several missions churches in the Evansville Baptist Association. She is a charter member of New Bethel Southern Baptist Church. Upon moving to Bethany she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.

Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents, Aubra and Jessie Jones; sister, Mary Anna; and a child lost in pregnancy.

She is survived by Richard, her husband of 50 years; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Eric Sweat of Bethany, Missouri; son, Rick Turner of Bethany, Missouri; granddaughter, Morganne (Peyton) Spurling; and grandsons, Andrew Sweat and Luke Sweat, all of Bethany, Missouri.

Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 29 in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, Bethany, MO.
