SAVANNAH, Mo. – Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Harvey, 90, of Savannah, Missouri, passed from this life to her precious Lord on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, at Living Community, in St. Jospeh. She was born on Dec. 5, 1933, to Lloyd and Helen (Reno) Harvey on their family farm between Savannah and Amazonia, Missouri.

Betty graduated from Savannah High School in 1951 and and started her working career. From 1963 to 1985 she was employed at St. Joseph Production Credit Association (PCA) as a bookkeeper. When PCA merged with the Federal Land Bank Association to become Farm Credit Systems, Betty assisted with the organization’s relocation to Warrensburg, Missouri, in 1986 and moved there to work as their treasurer and accountant, staying until 1989. At that time, after 25 years with Farm Credit, she took early retirement and moved back to Savannah. In November of 1992 she began her last job, this time in the Andrew County Courthouse, in Savannah, as a court clerk in the Associate Circuit Court office. She retired from the Andrew County Courthouse and the State of Missouri on Feb. 28, 1999. In her free time Betty enjoyed participating in competitive softball, attending state bowling tournaments, serving various churches, traveling, and doting on her nieces, nephew, and other members of her extended family.

Survivors include her nieces, Laurie (Frank) Valenzuela, of Savannah, Becky Rotterman, of Country Club, Missouri, and Sherry Norris, of Youngsville, North Carolina; nephew, Adam Latham, of Maryville, Illinois; cousin, Jan Zembles of, Columbia, Missouri; numerous great and great-great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rose Latham.

Memorial services will be Feb. 17, 2024, at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. with the service beginning at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in Savannah Cemetery.
