Larry Wayne “Bill” Hunt was born October 28, 1942 to Elizabeth Adeline (Thompson) and John Sanford Hunt in rural, Worth County, Missouri.  Bill graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1961.

On April 28, 1964 he joined the United States Army and served until April 27, 1967.  Bill was united in marriage to Patricia Lynn Jeanes on August 1, 1964 in the United Methodist Church in Redding.  To this union three children were born, Tracy, Jay, and Brian.  The family settled on a farm just north of Blockton where Bill farmed and raised his famliy.  He also worked for Taygold Coop in Clearfield hauling propane and farm fuel for many years. Bill loved hunting, tractor pulling, fishing, barbecued chicken, his family and friends.

Bill passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at his home.  He was preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth Hunt; parents-in-law J. Lloyd and Alta Jeanes; brother James Hunt; brothers-in-law Royce Rinehart, Bobby (Fern) Jeanes and George Saville.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, of 56 years, Patricia of Blockton; three children Tracy (Stacy) Seely of Clive, Jay Hunt of Mount Ayr and Brian (Kristi) Hunt of Baltimore, Maryland; two grandchildren Hailey and Lily Hunt of Baltimore, Maryland; sisters Susie Rinehart of Clarinda and Sally (Mike) Hansen of Griswold; sisters-in-law Susan Hunt of Kansas City, Missouri and Dorothy Saville of Mount Ayr; brother-in-law Charles (Vickie) Jeanes of Mount Ayr; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Graveside Services for 78 year old Larry Wayne “Bill” Hunt will be held Saturday at 11am at the Redding Cemetery. There will be Military Honors by the Blockton Legion Post #433 and the Iowa Honor Guard. A Celebration of Life and Gathering will be held after the burial at the Blockton Community Building. Memorials can be made to the Redding Cemetery of the Sands Timber Lake of Blockton, Iowa.
