Lawrence Joseph Ginther, 91, of Stanberry, MO passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at a Stanberry, MO nursing home.

He was born December 9, 1931 in Clyde, Missouri the son of Edward and Marie (Steinhauser) Ginther.

On May 7, 1955, he married Viola Meyer at the Conception Abbey Basilica, Conception, MO.  She preceded him in death on June 2, 2020.

Lawrence was a farmer and had worked at Summa Implement for 20 years.  He was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanberry, MO and also the Knights of Columbus. As a veteran, he was a member of the Raymond Sager American Legion Post #260.  He was very interested in genealogy.  He had a passion for woodworking and carpentry.  He also enjoyed gardening.

In addition to his wife, Viola, he was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Francis, Robert, Leo and Sylvester Ginther; a sister, Beatrice Farnan and a grandson, Jeffery Ginther.

Survivors include his children, Roseann Baumli, Maryville, MO, Ronnie (Betty) Ginther, Stanberry, MO, Lisa Merrigan, Bethany, MO, Mary Hill, Wichita, KS, Marilyn (Daryl) Stoll, Maryville, MO and Linda Kerwin, Holt, MO; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen (Joseph) Barry, Liberty, MO; sisters-in-law, Joan Ginther, Laveta Ginther and Lois Gockel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Stanberry, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO.  Burial with Military Rites will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, MO.  Rosary will be at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at the church with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Larry Ginther Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
