Mary Louise Blodgett of St. James, Missouri passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO. She was 86 years of age.

Mary Blodgett was born February 28, 1937, the daughter of the late Luther Thomas and Georgia (Beasley) Baker. On June 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Arthur Ray Rumley. She then married Joe Blodgett in April of 1999.

She is survived by one son, Russell Rumley of Molene, Illinois; one daughter, Raeleen Durham of Lebanon, Missouri; daughter-in-law: Kathy Rumley of St. James, Missouri; and grandchildren: Ashley Rumley, Brooke Young, Charity Coonce, Matt Durham, Kylee Rumley, and Emily Bass.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Rumley; husband, Joe Blodgett; one son, Rodney Ray Rumley; one brother, Donald Baker; three sisters, Betty Poole, Bonnie Spidle, and Berneice Brown; and one granddaughter, Amber Rumley.

Mary enjoyed sewing and reading books. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church; she loved reading her Bible and attending church activities.

She worked as a secretary at a veterinarian’s office for many years.

Mary Blodgett will lie in state beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Leon Cemetery in Leon, Iowa.
