King City, MO: Michael Bart Mercer, 50, King City, MO passed away Tuesday, March 21,
2024, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on August 9, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas the son of Jerry Robert
Mercer Sr. and Linda Darlene Kiolbassa.
On May 19, 2000 he was married to Becky Walters in Albany, MO.
He was a Paramedic for the Nodaway County Ambulance District where he was a
mentor to EMT’s and cared deeply for patients. He was also a Volunteer Firefighter at
the King City Fire Department. He founded the Missouri Whitetail Deer Hunters
Facebook Page.
Michael loved fishing, hunting, and dearly loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kathrine Taylor; and
maternal and paternal grandparents.
Michael is survived by his wife, Becky, of the home; children, Derek and Kari Taylor,
Kaitlyn Mercer, Deven and Kyrstian Taylor, and Kobey and Jocelyn Taylor; brother, Jerry
Robert Mercer Jr.; sister, Cynthia Dianne Ivy; step father, Bobby Kiolbassa;
grandchildren, Solomon, Kane, Lexi, Tori, R.J., Addi, Weslynn, Kingslee, and Beckett;
numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the First Christian
Church, King City, MO. Burial will follow in Ford City Cemetery, Ford City, MO. The
family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorial may be
made to Mike Mercer Memorial Fund to be designated later in care of Roberson Funeral
