2022, at a St. Joseph, MO hospital.
He was born on May 14, 1964, in Cameron, Missouri the son of James and Eva (Lee) Blessing.
Steven attended the Helen Davis State School and worked at the Opportunity Workshop in
Stanberry. He enjoyed movies, car rides, gardening (especially shucking corn), going to church,
he loved his family and he loved to watch local farmers during planting and harvesting seasons.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Merlin and Wanda Blessing and
maternal grandparents, Harold and Mamie Lee.
Steven is survived by his parents, James and Eva Blessing of the home; siblings, Jamie (David)
Nienhuis, Lawton, ND, Janice (Don) Steinhauser, Stanberry, MO, Jeff (Rebekah) Blessing, King
City, MO, and Ellen (Miguel) Spidle, Shawnee, KS; nieces and nephews, Luke (Damaris)
Steinhauser, Tim (Debbie) Steinhauser, Susan (Jordan) Schlenker, Samuel (Lacy) Steinhauser,
Anna (Lukas) Wakefield, James (Moriah) Nienhuis, John (Sarah) Nienhuis, Mary Nienhuis, Maria,
Daniel, and Caroline Spidle, Elisabeth, Issac, Matthew, Jonathan, and Levi Blessing; and great
nieces and nephews, Beatrice, Oren, Milly, Alaura, Joshua, Joseph, Emma, Joel, Donnie, and
Benjamin.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 14 at the Church of God 7 th
Day, Stanberry, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, King City, MO. Burial will
follow in King City Cemetery, King City, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of God 7 th Day
