In loving memory of Thomas L. Knipp, 76, born Oct. 1, 1947 in Charles City, Iowa, passed Jan.20, 2024, in Omaha. NE.  He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.

Tom was a dedicated Air Force veteran who served his country with honors for 20 years & served 3 tours in Vietnam. Tom’s legacy extends beyond his military service, as he embraced the role of a loving husband as well as father, and grandfather to all who were fortunate enough to know him. His kindness, wisdom, and warm spirit left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Tom’s commitment to both duty and family serves as an enduring inspiration.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Linda M. Knipp, his two daughters Lisa Knipp and Tona (Rick) Trask, his brother-in-law Terry (Patty) Eastin, his brothers Tony Knipp, and Greg Knipp, his sisters, Liz Chipp, Rita (Don) Davis, Marie (Larry) Estes, Lou Anne (Greg) Ireland, his honorary daughters Helen Lee, Sharlene Harrison and Lisa Caufield, his honorary sons Ron & Dennis Johnson, and Jeremy Smith, his grandchildren Michaela (Sean) Fleming, Travis Knipp, and Thomas (Macobeigh) Trask, & special friends the Clear’s, Sherman’s, and Coonce’.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kathleen & Larry Knipp, sisters Shirley Dew, Ramona Knipp, Phyllis Swank, Pauline Knipp and his brothers Stanley and Phillip Knipp, and his in-laws Earl & Doris Eastin.

Tom graduated from North H.S., in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1966.  In 1973 Linda & Tom were married and were blessed with two daughters, Lisa & Tona.   Tom spent 26 years as the Director of The Omaha Cloggers.  He loved his Harley, fishing, flowers, being outside, and traveling. He truly would give you the shirt off his back, and was there for anyone who needed help.  He was a father figure to many.  May he rest in peace, surrounded by the gratitude and love of those who cherished him.  He will be missed.
