Wallace “Wally” Dixon Aubrey – age 57 of Polo, MO passed away Tuesday evening, March 14, 2023, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Wally was born on October 15, 1965, the son of Leslie and Dixie (Leamer) Aubrey in Richmond, MO. He grew up in Polo and was a 1984 graduate of Polo High School. He was united in marriage to Jamy Brinkley on June 23rd, 1984, at the Polo Christian Church. He served as the pastor of the Polo Christian Church since 1995. Wally served on the Polo School Board of Education and the Polo Education Foundation. Wally was the varsity girls’ head basketball coach and was selected as the District Coach of the Year Award for the 2022-2023 season. He was also a substitute teacher and announced high school football games for many years.

Wally’s life was a reflection of his relationship with Christ, and he impacted others with his acts of service, generosity, and love. He had a nickname for everyone, a big laugh, and an outgoing personality which everyone loved.

To relax, Wally enjoyed fishing, music, and spending time with loved ones. Music was an important part of his life and ministry. Wally officiated countless weddings and funerals, ministering to and comforting families with his music and messages. He served the Lord with his whole heart. Wally will be dearly missed by his family, friends, church, and community.

He is survived by his wife, Jamy and children, Gage, Haley, Grayson, and Ava of the home; son Irakli Turmanidze of Batumi, GA; mother, Dixie Aubrey-Norton of Polo, MO; brother, Jim Aubrey (Annie) of Sedalia, MO; daughter-in-law, Jessi Aubrey of Mentor, OH; grandchildren, Jade, Jordan, Kai, Emma, and Gannon; aunts,  Betty Litton of Lawson, MO and Lillian Craig of Kearney, MO; uncle, Dixon Leamer (Gloria) of Polo, MO; several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many, many friends.

Wally was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Aubrey; son, Jeremy Aubrey; brother, Russell Aubrey; stepfather, Ernie Norton; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Aubrey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday evening, at the Polo High School Gymnasium. The public is invited to a live stream of memorial services at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Polo High School Gymnasium. The live stream will also be available on Wally’s Facebook page.
