Pet Of The Week – Bolt

Charles Dickens once said, “What greater gift than the love of a cat”, and though over 150 years have passed since Dickens made that statement, sweet Bolt still fits this quote perfectly!

Before Bolt came to Green Hills Animal Shelter he had a home of his own where he was very loved. He shared his home with three other felines that he was very attached to, and their lives were good. But then there came the incredibly sad day when Bolt’s owner was no longer able to care for him and the other kitties in the household and made the hard decision to relinquish their 4 seniors to the shelter.

Bolt is a friendly kitty who loves a kind word and a good lap to snuggle in. He is around 14-15 years old, but he certainly doesn’t show it! Because the shelter environment can be a little scary for kitties, especially for seniors like Bolt, he may seem a little shy at first, but you will quickly see he is a super sweet boy who loves getting his head and neck petted. He is a gentleman who very sweetly asks for attention and then gives you soft kitty kisses in return for your kindness. Bolt loves soft food and, despite his age, still enjoys playing. He has always been a 100% indoor kitty and Bolt is litter box trained and ready to perch on the back of your couch and watch the birdies from the safety of your living room!

If Bolt could describe his “purr-fect” Forever Home, he would ask for a family that would give him time to get comfortable in his new environment and then shower him with love and affection for the rest of his life. He would love to be a lap kitty and would be a wonderful choice for a person or family who would like the companionship and devotion of a loving, furry friend. As we mentioned earlier Bolt has always been an indoor kitty, so he would tell us that he has no outdoor skills and requires a home where he will remain inside 100% of the time, and he would also tell us that he would very much enjoy sharing his home with another feline companion as he very much misses his 3 friends who have already been adopted.

Bolt will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, FIV/FeLV tested and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies.  This sweet senior would love nothing more than to be back in a Forever Home of his very own; could you make this very special senior’s dream come true?
