Pet Of The Week – Dozer
We’d like to introduce you to Dozer! Dozer is an approximately 4-year-old Shepherd mix who would make an absolutely fantastic family dog! Dozer was transferred to Green Hills Animal Shelter from another shelter that wanted to give this amazing boy a better chance at finding his Forever Home, and when you meet him you will understand why both his previous shelter and the staff and volunteers at Green Hills Animal Shelter love him so much!
Dozer is an incredibly sweet boy who gets along with everyone he meets. He is friendly and affectionate and loves getting belly rubs and pets! Dozer is also very playful and will happily engage in play with anyone who is willing to play with him, but this smart boy also instinctively knows and understands when it is time to quit playing and settle down for pets and quiet time. And speaking of smart, Dozer has completed the Puppies for Parole Program and already knows his basic obedience commands such as sit, shake, lie down, and stay, he walks well on a leash, and he is also already housebroken.
As with all dogs who are incredibly intelligent, Dozer can get a little excitable when he is in the shelter environment, but when he is in a home he settles right down and is a perfect gentleman.
If Dozer could describe his perfect Forever Home he would ask for a home where he could spend time both indoors getting cuddles and belly rubs and outdoors running and playing in a securely fenced area. He would very much enjoy going on long, leashed walks and afterward curling up on the couch with his family. Dozer would enjoy having a canine friend in his new home (as with all our pets, we would encourage letting Dozer meet any potential canine siblings prior to adoption to make sure they will be the best of friends), but he does respectfully request that his new home not have any cats.
Dozer will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He is full of love that he is just waiting to share with a family of his own; could that family be yours?
