Pet Of The Week – Gretchen
Courtesy of Green Hills Animal Shelter

We started last week’s Pet of the Week with the Charles Dickens quote, “What greater gift than the love of a cat”, and that same quote definitely also applies to today’s featured pet, Gretchen!

Gretchen came to Green Hills Animal Shelter along with last week’s Pet of the Week Bolt and two other kitties. Before arriving at the shelter, they shared a home of their own where they were very loved, but then there came the incredibly sad day when their owner was no longer able to care for them and made the hard decision to relinquish them to the shelter.

Gretchen is a friendly kitty who loves people and loves attention. She is around 14-15 years old, but you would never guess that this happy girl who often acts like a kitten is actually a senior. Gretchen is smart and gentle and loves getting and giving soft kitty kisses. She is a sucker for treats and quickly warmed to the shelter environment with treats and lots of love. Gretchen has always been a 100% indoor kitty and she is litterbox trained and eager to share her love with a new Forever Family!

If Gretchen could describe her “purr-fect” Forever Home, she would ask for a family that would give her lots of attention and lots of treats. She would love to be a lap kitty and would be a wonderful choice for a person or family who would like the companionship and devotion of a loving, furry friend. As we mentioned earlier, Gretchen has always been an indoor kitty so she would tell us that he has no outdoor skills and requires a home where she will be inside 100% of the time. Gretchen gets along well with other cats, and would very much enjoy sharing her home with a feline companion. And if you would like to fulfill all Gretchen’s dreams, she would ask if perhaps you would also consider adopting her lifelong friend and companion Bolt so that these two kitties who have spent their whole lives together can continue to spend their senior years with each other. Bolt (who is also loving, litterbox trained, and a 100% indoor kitty) and Gretchen have been besties for many years, and with our current adoption special you can adopt the two of them together for only $30; what a wonderful gift you would be giving them!

Gretchen will go to her Forever Home spayed, dewormed, FIV/FeLV tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies.  This sweet senior would love nothing more than to be back in a Forever Home of her very own; could you make her dream come true?
