Pet Of The Week – Kodiak

It has been said that stray dogs experience more than their fair share of struggles yet they never give up on finding happiness, and that saying applies perfectly to Kodiak.

Kodiak, a gorgeous white and cream husky with the most beautiful blue eyes, was picked up wandering the streets as a stray and brought to Green Hills Animal Shelter. When she arrived it was clear the toll that life on the streets had taken on her; she was extremely thin and very hungry, and her now gorgeous white coat clearly showed the signs of the neglect she had suffered as a result of being on her own. But under her street-weary façade was one of the most resilient spirits we have ever had the honor of meeting! It didn’t take long for Kodiak to shine, and today she is a healthy weight and beautiful both inside and out!

Kodiak, whom we believe to be a young dog under 2 years old, is a friendly and affectionate pup who loves people. She loves and gets along with everyone she meets and would be a wonderful addition to any family, including a family with children. She is sweet and loving, and there’s nothing this heart-stealing girl enjoys more than being the center of your attention! Kodiak gets along well with other dogs and loves playing with them as you can see from the video of her playing with her shelter-bestie, Sage:

If Kodiak could describe her perfect Forever Home she would tell us that she would love to be an indoor dog who gets to spend her days being the center of her family’s universe. She would remind us that she will require a securely fenced yard because Huskies are expert escape artists (always remember, the “H” in “Husky” stands for Houdini!).  Kodiak would very much enjoy having a canine playmate in her new home and she would also enjoy a home with children who would love a loyal friend and companion.

Kodiak will go to her Forever Home spayed, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. She will also come with her very own starter bag of Science Diet food to get her started in her new home. She is an amazing spirit who will be the most loyal of friends; could you make her dream of a Forever Home come true?
