Pet Of The Week – Lady & Zeus
What could be better than adopting a dog who will fill your life with love? Adopting TWO dogs, of course! We’d like to introduce you to two very special pups named Lady and Zeus who are as sweet as pie and bonded for life.
Lady, who is about 9 or 10 years old, and her son Zeus, who is about 5 or 6, have been together since Zeus was born, and the love between these two could melt even the hardest of hearts. Before coming to Green Hills Animal Shelter they had a home of their own where they were very loved but as we so often say, life sometimes throws us curves, and through no fault of their own Lady and Zeus’s owner needed to relinquish them to the shelter. They have now been at the shelter for almost a year and it breaks our hearts to see these two amazing pets patiently waiting and hoping each day that it might be the day that someone chooses them.
Lady and Zeus were a bit nervous when they first arrived at the shelter but they quickly opened up to staff and volunteers, leaning on each other for comfort and courage as they adjusted to their new environment. Both Lady and Zeus are very sweet and friendly, and as we said earlier they are completely bonded with each other. They were used to being around children in their previous home and would make great family dogs in a family with older, gentle children. Before coming to the shelter Lady and Zeus were indoor dogs and both were already potty-trained. They love going on walks and taking leashed walks together is their favorite part of their day at the shelter. Lady is an adorable sniffer who loves smelling everything and Zeus (who we lovingly call snaggletooth because of his cute little bottom tooth that sticks up on the outside of his lip) loves toys – especially if they squeak. Lady and Zeus both know basic obedience commands and can’t wait to show their new Forever Family how smart and loving they are!
If Lady and Zeus could describe their perfect Forever Home, they would tell us that they would like to continue to be indoor dogs with a family who would love and care for them forever, and who would be patient and show them lots of love as they adjust to their new Forever Home. They would love to have a securely fenced yard where they could safely romp and play together, and they would very much like to get to go on long leashed walks with their family. And of course, Zeus would love to have some squeaky toys of his very own. But most important to them is that they stay together, and the shelter will offer a special reduced adoption fee on the pair so that these two very special pups can continue to remain together for life.
Lady and Zeus will go to their Forever Home spayed and neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. This is a very special pair who truly deserves a very special home; could that home be yours?
